Mother and twin babies (two enclosed thumper type bobbins in a pale wood

History / Origins:

This bobbin was received with a number of bobbins from the estate of a lacemaker.
Previous owner was active 1980s - 2010s.
No other provenance available

I have an identical bobbin, it was given to me in 1988 together with one with 3 rings the neck and top are the same but the tail is different.. I understand that they were purchased at a craft fair in the Bishop’s Stortford area. I don’t know the maker but the name Jack Smith was suggested once but I am doubtful.

Hi Carmela, thanks for the comment. Jack Smith is known to us. He is also called 'not the acorn' here on FTM because his tails are often acorn shaped and but he is not Acorn Bobbins. We'll put your feedback to the facebook group and see where we can get with it. Thanks again for supporting FTM
