I have been painting bobbins for over forty years now and have customers all over the world. The first design I painted were the orchids on ebony, still a popular choice and many other designs have come and gone over the years. Painting is a joy and it is always interesting trying to paint around a bobbin ! I specialise in commemorative bobbins too, for lace groups and meetings, anniversaries, special occasions and family trees. ...

I use mainly Stuart Johnson's bobbins which are always popular with lacemakers and some other bobbin makers too. All bobbins are coated with several coats of varnish to protect the design.

Because Sarah's bobbins are handpainted, even if you buy the same bobbin as someone else, it is still unique to you making these such a wonderful personal thing to own.
