FAQs
Who runs this website?
This site is hosted by Rothwell Bobbins and thelacebee on behalf of the Facebook Group Lace Bobbins - find the maker
How do I add my bobbins to this website?
Go to our Facebook group and share a photo of your bobbin. Once the maker or painter is verified, then add it to the albums and let the admins know so we can add it to this site.
We always acknowledge who provided the image and the photo remains your copyright. You will see that our images on here are marked 'Photo ©' then the name of the contributor

Can I add photos of my friends' bobbins or from the maker's website?
No, we only accept photos from the bobbin's owner or the maker / painter.
Why are there only UK & Australian bobbins on this site?
Initially we have focused on UK makers and painters as that was where the FB admins were based, however we have recently expanded our remit to include Australian and New Zealand bobbins.
These will be added as we gather information on them. If you are interested in becoming an Admin to focus on another country, then contact us using the contact form.

What is the difference between a modern bobbin, vintage or antique
Why don't you have any antique bobbins on this site?
Find the Maker stands on the shoulders of giants. We hope that our work on vintage and modern bobbins builds on the already published work on antique bobbins by Brian Lemin and Christine & David Springett.
Christine & David Springett's book; Success to the lace pillow is the one book that we would recommend you buy if you are interested in British antique lace bobbins. It is still in print and available on the Springett's website.
For online antique bobbin resources, Brian Lemin's website is excellent.
