How do I add my bobbins to this website?

Can I add photos of my friends' bobbins or from the maker's website?
No, we only accept photos from the bobbin's owner or the maker / painter. You are welcome to invite your friends to add their bobbins to the site.
The exception to this is where relatives have inherited or are disposing of bobbins on behalf of a family member and wish to add those bobbins to our archive. In these cases, we acknowledge the lacemaker / family.

How do I buy the bobbins on the site?
We do not allow the buying or selling of bobbins either on this website or our sister Facebook group.
All of the bobbins that you see come from our group member's own personal collections.
It is a rule of the facebook group that there is no buying or selling allowed.
If you go to our ID Summary page, you can see which makers/painters are still active. We endeavour to keep the main pages for these people upto date with their latest contact details.

Why are there mainly UK and Australian bobbins on this site?
Initially we have focused on UK makers and painters as that was where the FB admins were based, however we have recently expanded our remit to include Australian and New Zealand bobbins.
These will be added as we gather information on them. If you are interested in becoming an Admin to focus on another country, then contact us using the contact form.

What is the difference between a modern bobbin, vintage or antique
Why don't you have any antique bobbins on this site?
Find the Maker stands on the shoulders of giants. We hope that our work on vintage and modern bobbins builds on the already published work on antique bobbins by Brian Lemin and Christine & David Springett.
Christine & David Springett's book; Success to the lace pillow is the one book that we would recommend you buy if you are interested in British antique lace bobbins. It is still in print and available on the Springett's website.
For online antique bobbin resources, Brian Lemin's website is excellent.

Why can't I download the photos or right click on the website?
In order to protect the copyright of the images (which belongs to the bobbin's owner) we have turned off right clicks on the website. This is to stop images from being stolen or used for neferious purposes.
