Jan De Maertelaere
Marc De Maertelaere started turning bobbins in 1972. This quickly turned into a full time family business, which his son Jan took over in 1991. They make Midland/Continental bobbins and lace making tools and accessories... also wooden door knobs.
Styled on their website as 'the best bobbins in the world', they currently make over 300 different bobbin styles. Their East Midland bobbins have a typical 'bobble hat' head and a 'nipple' style tail.
Based in Lochristi, Belgium, their bobbins are sold in various European countries (including UK, France, Germany and Netherlands) by local suppliers or you can visit their website direct.
