Nick Perrin
Nick's bobbins have a distinctive head with a triangular base to the head and a pointed top.
Nick started turning bobbins in the mid 70's. He subsequently attended/graduated Bucks College in High Wycombe, studying furniture making.
It was fortuitous that the moulding of polystyrene furniture components was included in his studies, because this later enabled him to help his parents (Sheila and Russell Perrin of SMP Lace), to develop a pillow mould - which meant they could add polystyrene pillows to their range of equiptment (a significant advance in those days).
Nick later set up his own bobbin turning workshop in Chalfont St Peter, Bucks. He turned/sold his bobbins for many years, until ill health forced him to close the business. He sadly passed away in 2022.
