Lace Bobbins - Find the Maker
Started in 2020 on Facebook, by Jo Buckberry and Liz Baker, Lace Bobbins - Find the Maker was designed to collect together information on vintage lace bobbins created from the 1970s onwards.
Initially focusing on bobbins created and / or painted in the UK, we have expanded this to now include bobbins from Australia and New Zealand.
We are happy to accept confirmed makers from anywhere in the world, we just need examples of the bobbins to add to our archive.

Find the Maker Facebook group now has over 150 makers identified with example photos of their bobbins.
This is an outstanding achievement that has done through the support of our over 2,100 members.

Liz Writes:
Our Facebook group is a place to ask questions and find help in identifying the bobbins. Once identified, owners are encouraged to add photos to the group albums. Then, with the owners' permission, the verified bobbins are added here, on our website.
In a world where it's easy to steal images off the web, we want to thank everyone who has so freely offered images of their bobbins, old catalogues or adverts.
We want to remind everyone who visits this website and our Find the Maker (FTM) group that the images remain the property of the original poster and therefore fall under copyright.
To preserve the image copyright, we have turned off 'right click' on this website in order to prevent people from downloading images.
The format of the facebook group, this website, the albums and the information about makers / painters remains the intellectual property of Jo Buckberry and myself, Liz Baker. Because of this, we ask that you respect the copyright owners and do not reproduce the images and information in any other form such as (but not exhaustively) other websites, database, spreadseheets, podcasts, social media etc.
If you provide the facebook group an image, please make sure that you either own the rights to the image (i.e. it's your own bobbin) or you have permission to do so from the bobbin's owner.
