York Maker - Mr Dews
A number of lacemakers have bought the York / Jorvik bobbin from a shop in the Shambles between the late 1980s and early 2000s. The tail has a distinctive three cuts in them.
We have since identified this maker as Mr Dews, husband of the lace designer and maker; Alison Dews.
