Kenn Van-Dieren
Ken embraced virtually every style of lace bobbin, from every country and enjoyed creating beautiful pieces, maximising available woods or quirky beads. Unfortunately, by the late 2010s he had stopped turning bobbins and in 2022 his website finally went dark.
From the Wayback Machine:
I am no longer making bobbins but have left this section available so one can look at the different styles.
Bobbin making is the heart and soul of the business. The working of wood and the moulding and shaping of it is what I do best. Although I excel in the East Midland style, I also do a complete range of other bobbin styles.
As new bobbin styles are created, I will continue to upload photos of them. As I abhor production work, I rarely make more than five or six of any style at any time.
Occasionally, I will attempt something similar, but generally, I simply chat with the wood and let it tell me what it wants to be when it grows up. You may want to check this area on a regular basis. I will keep them online as long as possible, space permitting.
