In the late 1990s, new bobbins suddenly appeared on the UK scene. They were predominately lemonwood with beautiful pyography enhanced with Swarovski crystals.
Matthew turned the bobbins and Jenny did the pyrography and painting. But wasn't just bobbins that he made. He also produced tools and equipment for the lacemaker such as pin wheels or wax pots. Often exhibiting at Lace Fairs in the UK, his work was worth taking notice of.
The tails had a typical cylinder shape whilst the heads had a smaller bulb with a longer post between it and the top of the bobbin than most makers.
They were based in Wales an active c. 1998 to 2012. Jenny still attends occasional lay days under her current name of Jenny Hughes.
