Bryncraft
Bryncraft was made by Bryn Phillips, based in Lampeter, S Wales.
Bryn's bobbins were typically plain wood with pyrography and often had painted figures at the end. However, do not be fooled by the rustic nature of many of his bobbins, as he also produced some more finished bobbins with pointed tails.
Known for his whimsical bobbins, he used to make one bobbin in his Christmas set slightly different and then offer a gift bobbin to the lacemaker who bought it.
Lynn Turner of Church Meadow Crafts writes:
I used to sell these for Bryn; he used to make one bobbin in his Christmas set slightly different and then offer a gift bobbin to the lacemaker who bought it. Lovely man, enjoyed our stay with him. There was definitely only one Bryn.
Janice Nokes writes:
We visited once, in the middle of nowhere, very peaceful, apart from the low-flying jets.
Margaret Skinner writes:
I remember he and his wife coming to one of our Lace Days and had to bring a baby goat with them because it needed feeding regularly!
